The Big Questions

Before You Book

How early should I book my bridal salon in Sri Lanka?
For peak wedding seasons (December–January and July–August), book 6–9 months ahead. For other months, 3–4 months is usually safe. Popular auspicious (nekath) dates fill fastest — if your date is fixed, check availability immediately.
How does pricing work?
Every bride receives a personalised quote at a free consultation — shaped by your bridal style, events, retinue size and location. Nothing is off-the-shelf, and your quote is locked the day you book, protected from seasonal changes.
Do you dress brides for early morning nekath (auspicious) times?
Yes. Early auspicious times are routine for us — for a 5–6 a.m. nekath we begin dressing around 2.30–3.00 a.m., and we always finish with margin before your nekath hora.
Is a trial session included?
Every bridal experience includes one full trial session at our Colombo studio, usually 3–6 weeks before the wedding. You will see your complete hair and makeup look and we fine-tune every detail together.
Do you provide Kandyan bridal jewellery or should I bring my own?
Both options work. Our experiences include a complete heritage Kandyan set — nalalpata, seven necklaces, earrings, hairpins and bangles. You are also welcome to wear family jewellery, and we will style your look around it.
Do you travel outside Colombo for weddings?
Yes, we dress brides across Sri Lanka — Kandy, Galle, Negombo and beyond. For outstation early-morning weddings we arrive the previous evening; we handle the arrangements.
How do I confirm my booking?
An advance confirms your date after a free consultation at our studio. Dates are released on a first-come, first-served basis — a consultation alone does not hold a date.
What is the difference between Kandyan and low-country bridal styles?
The Kandyan (udarata) bride wears the osariya drape with a nalalpata forehead plate and seven necklaces. The low-country (pahatharata) bride wears an Indian-style saree drape with lighter jewellery and no forehead plate. We dress both styles and help you choose at consultation.
Can you dress my whole retinue and both mothers?
Yes — bridesmaids, flower girls, pupil bride, maid of honour and both mothers. The Ceylon Queen experience covers a full retinue; otherwise retinue dressing is available à la carte.
What makeup brands do you use?
Professional lines only — MAC, Bobbi Brown, Estée Lauder and Kryolan HD, with waterproof setting for tears, heat and humidity. If you have sensitive skin, tell us at the trial and we patch-test everything.
